Whether you’re a local producer or want to lend a hand, there’s a place for you here.

Located just outside Birmingham city centre, Moseley Farmers’ Market attracts thousands of visitors each month and has built a loyal, community-driven following.

Become a Trader

Sell your locally produced food, drink or handmade goods at one of Birmingham’s most loved markets. We prioritise authentic, local traders who are directly involved in what they produce. If you’d like to become a trader at our award-winning, FRA-certified market, please read our market rules and make sure you can meet the criteria.

Rules & Requirements

  1. Primary produce: The produce must be grown, reared, or caught in the local area on the producer’s land. For plants and livestock, this means grown or finished (having spent at least 50% of its life) on the producer’s land.
  2. Secondary produce: Anyone processing produce or adding value—through preparation, cooking, preservation, etc.—is considered a secondary producer. All processed goods must contain at least 25% of a raw ingredient originating from within our defined local area (not merely bought locally). No trader may resell bought-in produce without further processing.
  3. All produce sold must be grown, reared, caught, prepared, cooked, preserved, and/or otherwise processed by the trader.
  4. Moseley Farmers’ Market C.I.C. defines the local area as within a 50-mile radius of the market, from which the majority of producers are drawn. This wider radius reflects the suburban location of the market in South Birmingham.
  5. The maximum distance from which producers may travel is 100 miles for difficult-to-source or specialist produce, and only in exceptional cases.
  6. Stalls must be staffed by someone directly involved in growing, raising, or producing the goods on sale.
  7. No genetically modified produce or products containing genetically modified ingredients may be sold at the market.
  8. All traders must comply with current Trading Standards and Environmental Health requirements.
  9. All traders must maintain their own employee, product, and public liability insurance. Moseley Farmers’ Market will retain copies of certificates, which must be presented at every market.
  10. All accredited producers (e.g. organic certification from the Soil Association) must display certification from an accepted body at their stall.
  11. Each producer must complete an application form and be deemed to meet the criteria of Moseley Farmers’ Market C.I.C.
  12. When space becomes available, local producers will be given preference, without compromising quality.
